ANEW Hotel Ocean Reef Zinkwazi

We went for lunch on Heritage Day. We sat down and ordered some drinks which was all fine and well. Then it was time to order our food, only to find out that almost everything was unavailable on the menu. There was apparently a function and all the food ran out. We had to mix and match things to create a dish. There was no communication about this when we arrived. If we had known, we would have gone elsewhere. My 'braaibroodjie' was basically a toasted cheese sandwich and the cheese wasn't even melted. Most expensive toasted sandwich I've ever had in my life! Terrible experience!

Very bad service. We asked for Milkshakes and they surprisingly ran out of ice cream, There were four of us and we each ordered different flavors, and the waiter kept on asking if we all didn’t want to have the same flavor cause it was easier to make. If it was possible i would rate it 0 Stars

If only the running of services at this Hotel and the food can improve, if high standards of service delivery are well implemented, if focus and attention can be paid to turning around how services are rendered and if there is a massive shake up of kitchen and restaurant staff then this will become a most beautiful stay overall. I would have rated a 4 if the service matched the location and rooms.

Naturally, this was quite frustrating after a long journey, and we were unsure of what to do next. From the moment we spoke to her, Amile completely understood our dilemma and responded with the kind of empathy, professionalism, and speed that is rare to find these days. She calmly offered us two beautiful three-bedroom units as alternatives, gave us clear options, and even took the time to help with our luggage. She went well beyond customer service — she made us feel welcome, heard, and valued. Thanks to Amile, what could have been a ruined weekend turned into a warm, relaxing, and thoroughly enjoyable stay. The units were spacious, clean, and well-appointed, and the rest of our time at Ocean Reef was simply wonderful. ANEW, please take note — Amile is an absolute gem, and your brand shines because of people like her. We will definitely be back, and it’s largely because of how well we were treated in a difficult moment.
